Munich promotion project ready to go

Ambassadors tasked with promoting I Run Clean during the European Athletics Championships have begun arriving in Munich for their week-long mission to increase the number of users on the e-learning platform.

During the championships, they will interact with championship spectators, including those who get personalised athlete bibs from sponsor SPAR’s pavilion with the words “I Run Clean” on them, inform the spectators about our project and encourage them to sign up for and complete the e-learning course.

I Run Clean messages will appear on the in-stadium advertising boards and there will be announcements on the stadium sound system.

Operations will start on Monday 15 August, the same day as the first competition events, and continue through 21st, the final day of the championships.

Most of the project team’s conversations with the public will take place in or near a 4x4m pavilion located in the main stadium, right next to SPAR’s pavilion.

The team members responsible for organisation of the special project – Cyril, Franziska, Valentine and former La Sorbonne Nouvelle student Violette Gratien - have secured the wifi and decorations for the pavilion, branded shirts for the whole team and give-away items for those who register. They have also produced a Team Handbook.

Current La Sorbonne Nouvelle students Sabrina Taleb and Eva Zettwoog will be on site and responsible for publishing stories related to the project on social media, helping the new users share their own messages and selfies and providing other communication support to make the project a success.

Ambassadors at home (and on holiday) are encouraged to help out by sharing the social media output from Munich with their own networks using #irunclean and the link to www.irunclean.org.

Prize Draw

As additional motivation for new users of the platform, everyone who registers for the I Run Clean e-learning programme during the week will be entered in a draw for some real collector’s items – French and German team uniforms signed by top athletes from the two teams.

The draw will be made after the competition of the championships and the prizes will be sent to the winner.

Extra chances to win will be given to the new users who take a short survey prior to starting the e-learning course and who complete the whole course by the deadline of Sunday 21st August.

Ambassadors’ note: This draw is open to anyone who signs up during the championships, even if they are not present in Munich, so all I Run Clean Ambassadors are asked to promote this opportunity through their personal networks for the whole week of the championships.

To give all new users the best possible chance to win by completing the survey get them to use the following code:

Club France

We are happy to report that a number ambassadors will be invited to the Club France in Munich – a well-known venue to promote the French national team - on one or more evenings after the day’s competition in the stadium. There they will present I Run Clean to top athletes, celebrities and other VIPs, register them for the e-learning course and get some free food and drink.

We are all looking forward to the Instagram posts!

As reported in Newsletter 5, Jean Gracia and French ambassador Florence Paris will be presenting the I Run Clean project to the participants at the 7th European Athletics Young Leaders Forum on 20 August. Hopefully, the Young Leaders will visit our pavilion and sign up for the e-leaning course if they have not done so already.

Latest platform figures

July data shows another solid month of growth for the I Run Clean platform. This time, the new users registered totalled 561 and on the first of August we crossed the 38,000 mark. The 505 users who completed the course in July brought the total number of I Run Clean certificates awarded to 31,495.

With next week’s special promotion project at the European Athletics Championships in Munich, the project team is anticipating a bigger than usual month of growth in August.

Attention Ambassadors! Be sure to post about all your workshops and other I Run Clean-related activities on social media using #irunclean and a link to www.irunclean.org. Also, don’t forget to like/comment/share about your colleagues posts. This is very important for promoting our project and the e-learning platform to the wider athletics community.
