Promotion and communication strategy
Introduction
The primary aim of European Athletics’ I RUN CLEAN project is to fight for clean sport by raising awareness about doping and positively impacting the culture of the athletics community.
The project’s two main tools – the I RUN CLEAN e-learning platform and locally delivered I RUN CLEAN workshops – are designed to encourage athletes, parents, support personnel, leaders and others to carefully consider their values and how they relate to sport and personal behaviour.
Ensuring a wide reach for the project calls for effective promotion and communication, and everyone on the project team has an important role to play.
Our communications strategy has been constantly developing, thanks to valuable input from a variety of sources, including the project’s six federation partners, students from La Sorbonne Nouvelle and the I RUN CLEAN ambassadors. Implementation of the strategy in the coming months will be critical for the overall success of the project.
Objectives
The top communications objectives for the I RUN CLEAN project are to:
Enhance the reputation of European Athletics as a leader in the fight for clean sport
Maximise the number of e-learning platform users and test workshop participants
Increase the ongoing engagement of platform users and workshop participants

The roles the main groups in the I RUN CLEAN project include the following:
Project management team

Performance Indicators
From the start of the project we have carefully tracked the evolution of I RUN CLEAN platform users and certificates awarded, both across Europe (see graph) and in the countries of the six partner federations. This data is important for the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme, which is providing the main funding for the project and is particularly interested in how the project results are disseminated.
The most current platform data for the project overall and the countries of the project partners will be available in pdf documents on the I RUN CLEAN website. These will be developed and updated regularly so the partner federations and ambassador teams can see the results of their efforts and compare their progress with the other countries in the project.
As it becomes available, data on the workshops and other aspect of the project will be shared on this page.
