The constitutional objects of the ADAE are:
- To assist the Member Federations of European Athletics by promoting and developing Athletics in all forms (including running, walking, throwing and jumping) both competitive and non-competitive throughout Europe;
- To encourage participation in Athletics at all levels and by people of all ages and both genders throughout Europe through competitions, events, programmes and activities;
- To promote voluntary activities in Athletics, together with social inclusion, equal opportunities and awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity;
- To promote fair play and other ethical values of Sport and tackle cross-border threats, such as doping and violence, as well as all kinds of intolerance and discrimination;
- To assist European Athletics and its Member Federations in their relations and projects with the European institutions like the Council of Europe, the European Union and the European Commission.
ADAE is responsible for the overall coordination of the I RUN CLEAN project and will lead the Project Management work package, which includes the project communication and dissemination.
